ha ha haa.. taken from much news (www.muchmusic.com):

Jacko’s Fake Cake Award

Michael Jackson took the opportunity at last night’s MTV VMAs to take home a non-existent award from his birthday cake. While it was his birthday, and MTV was presenting him with a cake, Jackson was not given any award. However when Britney Spears introduced him as someone she believes to be the artist if the millennium, Jacko took her too literally. What MTV has called “a bit of a misunderstanding,” turned out to be Michael Jackson taking a cake decoration to be an award, and then giving an acceptance speech that included thanking magician David Blaine and professing belief in his tricks. Jacko’s said “When I was a little boy growing up in Indiana if someone told me I’d be getting the Artist of the Millennium award, I’d never have believed it.” Looks like he’ll still have to wait a little bit longer for that honour.

So funny .. hee.. sucks, but funny.

Here’s a game for those of you that know the San Jose State campus. Everyweek, or twice a week if I get too photo-happy about it.. I’m gonna post a wee little photo of something on campus. Then you are to name WHERE I got it from? You see the pic, you go “AH HA! I know where that is!” and then you click on “comments” right below the post, and type in the answer.

What do you get out of it? Ah.. not sure sure yet. Maybe i’ll email you something goofy, or just a virtual pat-on-the-back. It’s for fuuuun peoples. No profit! ;)

Also, if you don’t know the campus, but care to guess a random idea of where it could be located, or just be silly about it.. go for it! Have fun!

So here you go. The first picture is this:

I’m highly disappointed in Home Depot, OSH, and Southern Lumber. Why? Cause none of ‘em had 16 gauge black annealed steel tie wire. I *need* this for my 3D Concepts class… and these 3 places is where the teacher said we could get ‘em!! Why did she lie? Tell me… WHY. Ok so maybe they’re bought out.. i dunno. Home Depot.. gah. I asked 2 guys in the aisles where steel wires were. They pointed me to picture frame wires. Then I asked the customer service desk and the guy was new.. so he took my paper.. and walked alllllllllll the way to the end of the store.. we found 16.5 wire.. ok fine.. wheres my 28 gauge now (needed that too). It doesn’t exsist either. The whole time this guy and several others were helping me out, they kept sounding like i wasn’t sure I needed that kind of wire. Well hello guys! You were HOLDING the paper! Then one guy was like “Who wrote this?” me: “My teacher.. ” guy: “Ohhhh, ok.. well maybe she just wrote these places down when its not really here.” GO AWAY. So they didn’t make me happy.

Adam and I stopped at a Taco Bell, cause he hadn’t eaten all day.. so we’re sitting there, enjoying a snack when this lady and her two children arrive. She’s at the beverage area and starts to complain quite loudly that there is no regular tea. This is the kind of lady that talks very loudly on purpose so that she can express her views. So, naturally, Jen listens.. and because Jen tends to eavesdrop once she hears something interesting or well .. obviously being said so people can hear… she listens. Lady complains some more.. then she is talking to her children at the table. She mentions something about going to Target to get clothes for a funeral that is the next day. Ok fine.. talking about a funeral in Taco Bell.. loudly… sure ok whatever. Then she’s like “what do you think your dad would have wanted you to wear.. you wanna wear that ok.. that sounds nice..” etc to her kids. I guess at this point her son starts to say something, of which the mother sticks her hand straight out infront of her, so to have her hand flat and smack dab infront of her sons face and say out loud.. “I dont want to hear what you have to say. Your dad died and that is it” or something like that. Anyway, very odd behavior. The children seemed FINE.. so it was all very confusing. Then the mother started to rant again about the tea issue at Taco Bell. Then she made the stupid statement “If people come to America they should have to learn English” and totally starts ripping on these people that work at Taco Bell (cause they were all talking at the counter in Spanish). I dunno.. it was annoying and getting me mad. I feel so sorry for those children.

Its 8am and I wanna fall asleeeep. Stupid fire alarm kept me up last night. Grrr. But before that, it was VMA-watching time with friends. That was fun.. we hadn’t had a hangout like that in awhile. Silly Friday class.. GRR to that too.

Today was my furst day at skool.

9:00-10:15: I went to my Ad Campaign class.. we find out we’re doing campaigns for KIA. By pure luck, I get to work with 3 of the specific people I wanted to in that class. I’m sure the rest of my group (6 other people) will do just as well.. I just know the others work from previous classes.. so I’m happy!

10:15.. Then I ran halfway across campus and up a few flights of stairs to the science building in order to get into the Earthquakes & Volcanos class. But they already were full, not to mention the 20+ people that came to add. Needless to say, I’m adding tomorrows 9:30am class instead.

12:00 – My 3D Concepts art class sounds super spiffy! We get to make a mesh/wire model of something. I’m thinking of making my camera.. it would look neato I’m sure. Either that or my green lamp. It’s kinda funky..

I then caught the bus.. and came back.. I had more to say, but i’ll say it later.. I need to check my uploaded photos. ta ta..

oh and for those that wondered – Maggie is a mouse. :)

So I’m sitting here, going through the entire list of job search engines that The Spart has listed and I’ve noticed something that really irks me. On these engines, (one in particular, but i’ve seen it in a few more).. they ask you to enter in a “City”. Now, am I just being silly, or wouldn’t that mean they would only return a job list of jobs that are in that particular city? This doesn’t include searches where it says “and a 10+ mile radius..” etc. That doesn’t count. Anyway.. I say “San Jose”.. and yet i get Oakland, Menlo Park, San Francisco.. all of which.. well, I don’t wanna work in. I have no car and really, I don’t feel like taking the train only 3 days out of the week alllll the way to Menlo Park just for a data entry job.

Oh wait.. I did that 5 days a week last summer. But that was *different*.. how? Nice amount of money, and well it was nice working at my dad’s work .. plus having “Informix” / “IBM” on your resume isn’t too shabby either.

So.. I continue to search. I need to call up Kelly Services too, see if they have anything in the area or bus/lightrail area.

I just realized that although books might not be necessary this semester (if i take EQ&Vol they will) I will need notebooks.. Maybe I can just recycle from last year… hmm..

So I went to the park again today to take more “childhood without children” photos. Well, my reshoot of the pic I’m submitting to DP didn’t turn out, so I’m going with the original shot. However, I did take this shot of something there at the park. I’m particularly proud of it.

Tomorrow is mini-golf day! Due to my financial situation, I will be there purely to take photos.. but ya know, I really don’t mind. I love taking photos of events. Plus I can squeeze in s’more abstract shots. Hey maybe even a shot for the challenge, who knows!

Monday I need to register for Online Journalism and Earthquakes & Volcanos. Why? I need more units so that I can get my loan this semester. However, that leaves 7 units left for Spring semester. Or 4 units, depending when I get an internship.

I’d like to take this moment to say a great big hi-there-and-hello to all of you guys that read my page daily. Thank youuu! Hope it’s entertaining enough. I’ll have more fun things up later. Gotta finish some other stuff first. :)

Guess what, I suck at keeping money. Not that I just spend too much, but that I don’t keep track of what I spend either. See, I told you guys I was bad at math.

I had sushi today. MMMm it was good. We went to Miyake’s.. We had Miami Rolls (bbqed tuna, avocado, and cucumber i think), and shrimp tempura rolls.. those were good too. I think part of the reason I like chinese and japanese foods.. the chopsticks. They’re so much fun to eat with! I’m a dork, I know. Whatever, I can have fun if I wanna.

Well thats about it.. tomorrow.. dunno.. coloring (need to finish Shannons book before Sunday).. maybe some pics.. walk around San Jose.. something.

Whatever I do, it will be FREE.
