Ok so I’m taking one of my 15 minute breaks to ask just one question… Why is it that a radio station can play 4 different Phil Collins songs throughout the day and yet insist on shoving Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful” and Shania Twain’s “Get You Good” (or whatever it’s titled) down it’s listener’s throats? Grr. Alright, back to work I go.

Jennifer’s To Do List:

.: Find box to ship gift. I’m hoping for a real box rather than my traditional “packaging doesn’t define whats inside” plan I go with. This will probably cause me to either a) go to Target or b) just go to a Mailbox etc (or Postal Annex, and so on) and just package/send all at the same time. Convenience, such a novel idea.

.: Send my cousin’s bday card. It will arrive late, seeing as how.. well.. heck

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY KIM!!!

.: I need to clean my desk. Why? Because it represents how I feel right now.. messy .. cluttered.. all crazy-like. I need to clean it up. This reminds me..

.: Buy a couple small storage boxes to store random junk I don’t use.

.: Purchase Entertainment Weekly tomorrow. Why? Cause the main story is about how Buffy is over. ::sniffle::

Mister Rogers died today. It’s so sad… he’s been such a staple in young people’s lives. Sheesh, even now, years and years later… how many times have you been putting shoes on/off and you do that little toss with a smile?

Well I’m taking a lunch break right now.. so I thought I’d check out the news and such. Well, over at CNN they had an article about Christopher Reeve guest starring on Smallville. The article gives a good summary of the entire Smallville-storyline. It also has a small interview with Tom Welling toward the bottom. Check that part out. There are a couple of humorous moments when he shares how people tend to forget he’s not Clark Kent. Here is the article.

Buffy was awesome, but I’m sorry.. tonight’s Smallville had to have been the best hour of TV I’ve watched in quite some time. Not only was it a Superman-story episode (unlike their Monster-Of-The-Week lame episodes they do now and again) but it had the man himself, Christopher Reeve. It was great! My favorite moment was, of course, the music. They used the music from the movie!!

I freaked out just a smidge about it.. kinda danced around a bit. There was some minor excitement squealing. Then I ran upstairs to put up a fun away msg.. and then Shanta and Marc called right about when I was in the middle of the stairs. They knew I was freaking out.

So I’m weird and my friends have picked up on that.. good. Glad everyone is paying attention. ;)

Anyway, Clark know’s he’s Kal-El now, he can read Kryptonian, but.. he’s got a new pile of angst to deal with. He thinks (due to poorly translated/understood Kryptonian) that he was sent to Earth to conquer it. D’oh. So now he’s going to be all mopey about that. Wee.

Sometimes I wish I knew how to travel to other dimensions.. planets.. whatnots. I’d go to one were the time difference between there is extreme. For every hour I am gone from here, I’m experiencing say, 5 in the other dimension. I would get so much done! I could work on paintings, collages, photo edits, websites, oh and study for exams. Then when I get back.. it’s like .. “ooh i have the whole day to play / sleep now”

yeah i’m a dork. whatever. I don’t see how some people can balance a million things in a day. I like to go slow. I move.. sloooowly. Ok not like snail speed, but I take things in.. smell the roses and such. Or maybe I’m just lazy. hee

I can’t decide what to do with my free time right now. Should I paint? Should I complete the two collages I’ve started? Maybe I should do that photo edit my mother wants me to do. Or I could sleep. I nearly fell asleep taking my midterm today, so you’d think sleeping would be at the top of my list.

I’ve always looked at sleeping as wasting time. But then I crave sleep so much. I really need to find my balance. I can get by on a day with 5 hours of sleep.. well hell I can get by on 0 hours of sleep but it’s not a fun experience.

Hmm. i think working on the photo edit wins.

Well this day was spent to it’s fullest..

My day kind of began at 6am. Why? Cause that’s when I woke up, naturally, looked at my alarm clock and did a mental calculation. If reset my alarm (instead of going off at 6:30) so that it goes off at 7… I get one more hour of sleep. So I convinced myself, set it and beep beep beep — next thing I knew, it was 7am. So I hop out of bed, grab my clothes, shower, grab my shoes, purse, and jacket.. and woosh. I’m out the door. I get to the bus stop in 8 minutes (beat my record by 2 whole minutes!) And the bus was already there! So, since it was freezing, I got on. Big mistake.

Why? Cause I was now 10 minutes early to work. But that’s fine, someone was there to let me in. So 8 hours go by.. nothing too exciting.. made a few calls, did some research, worked on media lists.

After work, Iris, Adam and I went shopping! Well.. actually I think I’m the only one who bought anything. Heeh. I got 4 pairs of earrings. One of ‘em is from the brand 1928. They’re purty. Green and sparkily. See?

I bought a card for my cousin, a gift for my mother, and the newest Martha Stewart magazine.

My feet hurt. I’ve been in my boots all day long. ick.

A high school english teacher is suing a chain of movie theaters because she wants the 4 minutes back that she lost due to those pre-movie commercials.

Here’s a link for the whole article.

I think this lady is missing the point. In the article it points out that sometimes these commercials run about 10 minutes prior to the film, that I think is kinda silly… but 4 minutes? That’s not a big deal.

Plus think of it this way lady, do you know what is paying for you to be able to sit in that theater? I guarantee you it isn’t the $7.50+ that you forked over for the ticket. Movies take a lot of money to be made, Theaters take a lot of money to afford movies to show.

I think some people have forgotten the reason for advertising anymore. Not too many people do research on it, or know the past. Advertising is a source of funding for many, if not every, bit of entertainment.

I can understand maybe regulating how long the commercials run at the beginning of the movie, 3 minutes is fine. This lady wants her 4 minutes back. Eesh, now she’s taking out MORE time of her life to bother with this lawsuit. Is she going to sue for that too?

I can see the advertising industry winning on this one, with maybe a restriction on time being the settlement. However, they might lose in the long run. People, who throw fits about the commercials, will start to arrive a smidge later at the theater, figuring “ah we’ll just miss those stinky commercials, but make it in time for the trailers”.. and maybe that theater wasn’t running ads, so maybe those people miss the beginning of the movie.. Oh the uproar then.

That’s another thing, trailers.. uh hello Lady.. these are commercials two, yet it seems you’re ok with that. You know that car that Mel Gibson is driving in that movie you’re watching? Well it’s not there by accident.

Does this lady not buy products? How does she know what to buy? How is she enfluenced? Does she just go to the grocery store and read every product… becoming confused with the difference between similar products? I’m not saying that having the commercials in the movies are the only source of enfluencing, but it adds to it.

So my advice to this lady, watch the damned commercials, just get comfy in your seat, eat your popcorn, and try not to have that stick up your bum bother you too much while you watch your movie.
