So this weekend was eventful! And do I have photos? Well some, but not nearly as much as I should. It was just too damn hot to take photos.

We threw a bbq on what was probably the ‘best day to have a bbq’. It was sunny. It was hot. People were hungry. We had kabobs. We had Adam’s Famous Macaroni Salad. We had plenty of chips.

We *have* plenty of chips.

After eating in the sun for a few hours, we moved into the nice cool apartment and relaxed. We all got ready and jumped into the pool. The pool was all ours for a matter of, say, 15-20 minutes. Then every child in the complex and their parents decided to go for a swim as well. So we smooshed ourselves (the 8 of us) into a corner of the pool and played around. As handfuls of kids/parents left the pool we started to play more. … All of a sudden .. We had the pool to ourselves! Oh but then we noticed a kid was crying cause he was too scared to get back into the pool. Heh. Go us. We behaved and the child was happy.

After nursing a headache, we went downtown and didn’t come back until 3am.

It was quite the day. I love weekends like this. Jam-packed of fun events with friends.

Now we’re trying to figure out what to do for the 4th of July.

I think on the 3rd we’ll head to the discovery park downtown.. Chantal Kreviazuk is going to be there! I haven’t seen her since Summerfest ‘98.

So what are youuu doing for the 4th?

Oooh Blogger changed it’s look a wee bit. Very snazzy … and yet you can’t see it. nyah nyah.

So here’s the…. FRIDAY FIVE!

1. How are you planning to spend the summer?

I am planning to spend the summer… working 4 days a week, going to the pool hall ‘a whole bunch’, working on some web design, traveling to a few places. Generally just having loads of fun.

2. What was your first summer job?

Hmm. Summer job…. oh yeah. I worked at Memorial Hospital in Modesto in their accounts receivable dept. File clerk. It wasn’t loads of fun, but it was money. Money is good.

3. If you could go anywhere this summer, where would you go?

Well I’d like to visit my friend Amy (hi amy!) in Ohio.. go to Cedar Point and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I’d also like to go somewhere else, but not sure where. Just travelling. Since I’m able to save money and have Fridays off, it’s a nice combo to plan trips with. And as they all say, travel when you’re young cause when you’re older it gets harder. I figure I should travel before i have to work 40 hrs a week and schedule in vacation time.

4. What was your worst vacation ever?

Worst vacation? Not sure I’ve been on one really. I enjoy all my vacations. Although, I was minorly grumpy when we went to Seattle and such simply because the LA FoLC-fest was going on. Not that going to it was really an option.. but I got over that.. and wrote my one and only fanfic on that trip.

5. What was your best vacation ever?

Oooh. Hmm. I liked the Sea Ranch trip that we went to the Hot Spot (which is a totally cool spot at Sea Ranch)… and most recently the trip to LA with Adam and Iris. That was a blast.

I had to do some research on a program called eScrip and thought I’d share it here. Basically it’s a program that allows you to register any grocery/store loyalty cards, club cards, and various credit cards that you have, and when you register them you are allowed to choose 3 charities/organizations that will benefit from your purchases.

So for example, you have a Safeway club card and you register it on eScrip. You purchase groceries throughout the month. At the end of the month, Safeway sends it’s club card usage data to eScrip who then matches it with the registered users. From there they figure out how much Safeway owes to various charities/organizations.

You get a detailed report on how much you’ve given to the organizations as well.

I’m not sure on the tax benefits, but the feel-good benefits are there!

Michelle Branch – “Are You Happy Now”

Now, don’t just walk away

Pretending everything’s ok

And you don’t care about me

And I know there’s just no use

When all your lies become your truth and I don’t care… yeah, yeah, yeah

Could you look me in the eye

And tell me that you’re happy now, ohhh, ohhh

Would you tell it to my face or have I been erased,

Are you happy now?

Are you happy now?

You took all there was to take,

And left me with an empty plate

And you don’t care about it, yeah.

And I have given up this game

I’m leaving you with all the blame cause I don’t care, yeah, yeah yeah,

Could you look me in the eye?

And tell me that you’re happy now, oohh oohhh

Would you tell it to my face or have I been erased,

Are you happy now? Ohhh, ohhhh

Are you happy now?

Do you have everything you want?

You could never give something you aint got

You can’t run away from yourself

Could you look me in the eye?

and tell me that you`re happy now, oohh oohhh

come on tell it to my face or have i been erased,

are you happy now? Ohhh, ohhhh

are you happy now?

Would you look me in the eye?

Could you look me in the eye?

I’ve had that all I can take

And I’m about to break

Cause I’m happy now, ohhh, ohhh

Are you happy now?

It’s high noon at the pool hall… the 6ball is lookin’ for some trouble…. and has found it in Mr 8ball.

Stripes vs Solids

Ah Thursday night. My weekends officially begin. This Thursday (much like last thursday but with more people) we went to South First Billiards. It was lots of fun. Al got confused.. in one of those ultimate tv-sitcom-style moments where he really truly honestly believed he was right… only moments later to realize (in again, a classic washing-over-your-face type realization) that yes, he was wrong. So yeah.. it was fun. Here’s a picture of Tim in a classic pool shootin’ pose.

Then poof! it was Friday. After a couple of laundry loads, a call to Blue Cross, and a browsing trip to the Great Mall — Iris, Maya, Adam and I went to visit Kevin at the Elephant Bar. Here’s Kevin!

He’s a great waiter! Such fun, too bad we couldn’t have hung out more but he had other tables to deal with (work work work) ;) The Elephant Bar has awesome food at wonderful prices (and their Jungle Colada is YUM). Check out our view!

On the way back from the E-bar we stopped at a gas station (AAHHH!!) so Adam could refill his car. Then all of a sudden we found ourselves in the middle of Soap-Storm 2003, see Adam running for his life here…

Heh. yeah ;)
