So Nokia is coming out with necklaces.

“Say wha?”

NECKLACES. Yeah, you wear ‘em, and you beam in your cellphone images to the charm. Voila! You’re wearing your images. How awesome is that?

I like the Medallion II, the normal leather strap, not the choker style.

So I guess having Flame-Throwing Breasts isn’t an option for women with newborns, eh?

Waiting for a star to fall…

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

Light Rail has new trains. They are flush with the pathway (Japantown/Ayer to Baypointe at least), new doors, new ‘request stop’ buttons. Which by the way, I stared at for a long time wondering .. “is this what I push? This strip of thick rubbery material?” They’re nice overall, but the announcing scared the crap out of me. The recorded woman’s voice is a bit too cheery for 7/8am in the morning.

I’ve been riding it for a week now.. haven’t been checked for a ticket yet. Does VTA make any money off of selling Light Rail tickets? I wonder how many days will pass before someone wants to see my ticket.

ooh. i get to go now. bye.

Ye Olde … Bleh.

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

So the Renaissance Faire was really hot and just like last year (except for one new show we saw). Eh. Honestly I don’t think I’ll go next year, and who knows about the next. I’ve been to 3 or 4 now and it’s just the same thing. Pewter. Crafts. Ye Olde this and Ye Olde that (like Ye Olde ATM machine, and Ye Olde Sprite and Pepsi) Then of course there are all the people dressed up. Men with swords and beer in their hands, and women breasting out all over the place. It’s a bit much really.

I feel bad for the couple all in leather. Baby Powder must be their friend.

So yeah, went somewhere and I didn’t even take any photos.

Zilch, zip, nada. Too hot. Too crowded (me and crowds = grumpy Jen).

I did however, have my misty-fan-spray-bottle. I love that thing, comes in handy for so many things. (Hot outdoor festivals and weird watercolor artwork to name at least 2 uses.)

So now its time for a nap, some tv, a small snack, and then hanging with friends later tonight.

Friday Five!!

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

1. Who is your favorite singer/musician? Why?

Matt Nathanson.. are you surprised?

Matt Nathanson isn’t just a very talented artist, he’s great to his fans as well. He doesn’t just jump on stage – sing songs – jump off stage. He’s on stage.. joking with the crowd, talking with them, doing sing alongs. Then after his set, he’ll come by and meet his fans. He’ll hang around until everyone that was in line/waiting to speak with him has had their moment. He listens to each fan, has a conversation with them.. everything! He’s wonderful to his fans. Can I possibly gush anymore? ;)

2. What one singer/musician can you not stand? Why?

Hmm. Well, I guess I really don’t like Celine Dion. Some of her stuff is ok, but eh I dunno.

3. If your favorite singer wasn’t in the music business, do you think you would still like him/her as a person?

Ok so lets talk about Matt Nathanson somemore. ;) He seems like a pretty cool guy in general, hilarious, etc. I’d totally add him as my friendster!

4. Have you been to any concerts? If yes, who put on the best show?

Oh geez.

The Lilith Fair(s) were awesome, but welll.. it was grass seats at Shoreline and thats pretty far from the main stage.

Aerosmith a couple of years ago was GREAT. They had a mini-stage in the grass area so that was awwwesome. We went from like being in the gabillionth row, to something around like “8th row”. Oh yeah that was at Shoreline too.

Then there are the Summerfests and Xfests I’ve been do.

I honestly have to say that any gig for Matt Nathanson has been pretty awesome. I’d say the Stanford one was the greatest because… Matt stood on our table and sang to the crowd! Hee.

So i’m obsessed.. leave me alone.

5. What are your thoughts on downloading free music online vs. purchasing albums? Do you feel the RIAA is right in its pursuit to stop people from dowloading free music?

I guess for those that are downloading thousands and thousands a day and then in turn hosting them for others to steal.. it’s a bit much really. But that whole 12-year-old being sued, and the grandfather, etc.. that’s when it’s stupid.

I like how they’re lowering the prices on new cds.. hopefully that sticks.
