I look forward to …

Published by Jennifer under mattnathanson

.: Saturday. Even though I have to get up early, I’m doing it for a good cause. Helping Al & Shannon move should be fun. Of course I will be taking photos, cause I’m a dork like that.

.: Sunday. Because I have not slept in since .. ok so it was Monday when I slept in, but still. I crave it.

.: May. Amy has told me the dates for the trip (granted, she has yet to find out *exactly* which days the Grand Canyon-ing will happen, but she’s close.) I’m so very excited. Travelling, taking oh-so-beeautiful photos of one of the world’s natural wonders, and finally meeting Amy in person after what, how many years? 8? 9?

.: March 6th. Matt Nathanson gig in SF. If anyone would like to go, please let me know.

.: May again. It’s my deadline to buy a Canon 10d.

.: SPRING. Tired of the rain. It can leave now. Shoosh!

.: Having something to really post about. heh.

Poot.

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

Nothing of interest to say of my weekend. From Thursday night up to, well, this moment.. I have done nothing but taken Nyquil, slept, felt phlegmy, slept s’more, watch tv/dvds/movies, and slept. And slept.

I no longer sound like my throat has left town or that I have swallowed sandpaper or something else that is rough and scratchy. Though, I sound / feel congested and as though someone has stuffed tissues in my head. (Maybe I did that myself, I did go through 2 1/2 boxes of tissue this weekend.. hmm)

So no fun for Jen this weekend. Poot.

But here’s hoping I’m back to normal by Friday/Saturday. Al & Shannon are moving into their first house (as hubby and wifey! awww) and we are helping them move.

Other than that, nothing is planned… and damnit we should plan something! I need to make up for this weekend’s lack-o-fun.

You know you’re sick when it becomes an epic battle just opening a packet of Nyquil liquid gel caps.

Good ole contradicting Bush..

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

We can always depend on Bush for humor … In an article regarding the same-sex marriages that happened over the weekend in SF (which btw, congrats to all!), Bush discusses his feelings on the matter..

“I have watched carefully what’s happening in San Francisco, where licenses were being issued, even though the law states otherwise,” Bush said. “I have consistently stated that I’ll support law to protect marriage between a man and a woman. Obviously these events are influencing my decision.”

“I am watching very carefully, but I am troubled by what I’ve seen,” Bush said.

He didn’t answer directly when asked whether he is any closer to endorsing a constitutional ban on same-sex marriages, as conservative groups say the White House has assured them Bush will do.

I strongly believe marriage should be defined as between a man and a woman,” Bush said during an Oval Office session with Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. “I am troubled by activist judges who are defining marriage.”

“People need to be involved in this decision,” Bush said. “Marriage ought to be defined by the people not by the courts. And I’m watching it carefully.”

So now let me get this straight… Bush says he wants the PEOPLE to be involved in this decision, that it should be defined by the PEOPLE.

Ok.

So the people go out and get married, many of them finally being able to after years of being together, a joyous occasion, etc. The people have spoken, right?

Oh but wait, Bush wants to put a constitutional ban on same-sex marriages… wait a minute. So, although the people have clearly defined marriage .. he still wants to define it for himself? Agh. Such a headache.

He’s an idiot.

I know that’s not news to anyone, but eesh.

“Stick a pointy thing in him. Angel’s done.”

Published by Jennifer under television

So it’s all over the news, well the news I read at least… Angel is no more.

The big demon that is the WB (bitter, nah) has decided to announce the death of the Angel series early. They did it so that Joss has the chance to craft a grand finale.

bah humbug.

I realize I watch less and less weekly televised programs, and now with the cancellation of Angel, that only leaves Smallville, Will & Grace, and ER.

Ahh dvds. Love ‘em to itty bitty pieces. The Jossverse will live on. ;) (At about $50 a season, but still.)

(Title nabbed from this article.)

Say wha?

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

While doing an online search for work, I came across a publication called Modern Drunkard Magazine. I did a double take, and then went to the website.

It features How-To articles, “Know Your Bartender”… odd stuff. Here’s a profile of the magazine:

“Targets the recreational drinking market. Covers instructional articles on how to become the professional drunk, interviews with celebrities on the cutting edge of boozing, drinking fiction and poetry, historical view of drinking, biographies of the greatest drunks of history, explorations of the finest drinking cities in the world, and engrossing examinations of foreign drinking cultures.”

A professional drunk? Imagine that on a business card. And hold on, there’s a cutting edge of boozing?

uh huh. It certainly seems entertaining enough.
