Vacation!!

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

In 13 days I will be hopping a plane to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The next plane I hop on will be in Denver. Wacky huh? Ok so this is a big deal for me. I’ve never really travelled like this before. For most of my friends, travelling to different countries is routine, so I’m sure to them this is small potatoes.. but I am totally looking forward to it.

So lets see how far I am on my travel checklist. (Cause you’re just dying to know, I’m sure.)

.: Flight to NM. Flight to SF — CHECK!

.: 512mb CompactFlash card — CHECK!

.: 2nd Rechargable battery for 10d — CHECK!

.: Flippies, extra/new t-shirts — CHECK!

Just a few more items of clothes and figuring out what bills I need to pay before I leave and.. and… wow I think I’m set.

Of course… then there is the packing. Packing!

Oh damn. I gotta work on Amy’s Birthmas gift. For those that know what it is — yah it’s still the same. No progress since then. Tsk tsk to me.

Anywhoo. Boring entry I know.

Look for new photos on Sunday!

thud

I’m convinced that the people upstairs play catch with an anvil.

.. and they’re really bad at it.

And with that, my spare time has been spent. Time to go back to work. Yay overtime!

My Destiny..

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

Thanks to searching on Yahoo, I am able to unlock the secrets of my destiny.

So .. I typed in, “what is my destiny” and waited. I couldn’t believe my life was about to change!

Hmph.

Well, while Yahoo was out to lunch, I logged into Blogger to find a lovely greeting waiting for me. I (aka Frequent Blogger User #Gabillion And 1) was offered a chance to test out the wonder that is GMail! Google’s 1,000 megabyte webmail system.

Apparently my destiny was to use another web portal and find solitude and happiness with it’s experimental webmail service.

Rainy Day

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

Poot to Mother Nature.

Thanks to the overcast/rainy day, Adam and I did not go to Bonfante Gardens.

We did not go to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

We did not go to San Francisco.

Instead, we checked out a Wave magazine and tried to find a local event/show. We found the “Annual Iris Sale & Show” and figured we’d go and check those out as well as find new plants for the pots we have on the balcony. If anything, I’d have a lot of beautiful flowers to take photos of.

We got to the Regan’s Nursery, only to find there were no more irises left. At least I didn’t see one. We found two kinds of flowers we want to plant. One is called Gerbera and the other…. well I don’t know. But they’re cute little flowers, half bluish-purple, half white. Meanwhile, Stan (a shrub?) and the pale yellow daisies are still alive and kicking (thanks to Adam who waters them — I tend to forget and end up killing plants.)

Anyway, due to the sprinkling rain, I only have two photos to share. Check out the mushrooms and cool garden stones.

Hakone Gardens

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

Adam and I had a picnic lunch at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga today. The place is incredibly beautiful, and all of the flowers have yet to blossom.

I started a separate photoblog to share my photos. So click on the link to the right (photoblog) and you will see the complete set of photos. I will try to mention here when those are updated — but I’d advise you to just check it out now and again.

Subservient Chicken..

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

Before leaving for the day, I wanted to share a website with you.

If you haven’t seen the new commercials for Burger King, you are missing something. First off, the commercials involve a man(?) in a chicken suit, that will do whatever you want it to do. For example, one commercial shows the Chicken walking into the room, dressed in garters and one of those see-through teddy shawl.. things.. whatever. Anyway, a man on the couch says “Music..” and the Chicken turns on some music.. but the man says “Not that kind”.. the Chicken leaves, and comes back with an accordian.

The second commercial has two women, going about their day. The one on the couch throws her pencil down on the ground and says, playfully, “oops” .. Chicken shows up (in garters) and bends over to pick (peck) up the pencil, but the women kicks it father. The Chicken is then forced to do the ole-bend-over trick and the women admire the butt of the Chicken.

Yes weird. Funny weird.

Burger King’s tagline – “Chicken. Just the way you like it.” haha.

ANYWAY.

At the end of each commerical is a website.

subservientchicken.com

This site is so much fun! Tell the Chicken do to whatever you want. Tell it to ‘walk like an egyptian’, tell it to ‘watch tv’, to sing, to dance.. try anything.

Silly fun brought to you by Burger King and the Crispin Porter + Bogusky advertising agency. The same agency that brought you the Ikea “Lamp” commercial (”Many of you feel bad for this lamp, that is because you’re crazy. It has no feelings… and the new one is much better.”)

– update — Have the chicken ‘moonwalk’ and ‘breakdance’ tee hee!

T minus 15 minutes and counting…

Published by Jennifer under Uncategorized

Is it just me or is Carson Kressley everywhere?

I mean seriously.. first his face is telling me to apply for a “Yahoo $20k Career Makeover” and then he’s telling me how good Goldfish Crackers are. Goldfish Crackers.. Come on man… crackers?

Btw, if you go to the Goldfish site, I see no sign of Carson but there is a lovely CGI Garfield (movie promos already) there. Also play the Goldfish blaster game. It’s a fun time waster.
