If I were a bug…
Every now and then, on the ride back home to Modesto, my dad asks me if we should take Patterson Pass Road. Usually I pass on the idea. The ideal conditions to take this bypass (instead of hitting the Altamont) are usually nice bright sun-shiny days. Well, Saturday morning was just that. Ok so there were some clouds, but clouds are ok.
The great thing about this road is once you reach the top, you get a grand view of the Central Valley and the Altamont windmill farm en masse. I was going to try to link to perhaps an official site for the windmill farm, but my quick search has only resulted in various articles and sites ranting about how the windmills are killing off various birds that nest in the area. So.. hmm. That sucks.

Alright well you’ve better seen it by now
YAY! I’m so happy Jay won. He truly had such a wonderful collection. I loved the headphone accessory and the color themes. You know, although Wendy was stupid for at least admitting she was being strategic and “playing the game” (she could have done the same without admitting it and just play nice with others) she is pretty talented. I liked her final piece, the corset gown. She’s very new to the idea of fashion and perhaps hasn’t found her style. It’s too bad that Melissa was her model. You know, I missed a part — did the models pick the designer or vice versa? Cause if the designers picked, wouldn’t that be sort of unfair? Bah. Whatever.
Kara, she’s great and its too bad she didn’t win, but I would have agreed with the judges on this one. The fact that her long dresses were really long peeved me to no end. She even said she didn’t want to shorten them! So it’s ok to have your models practically trip over your design I guess. I dunno, I think Jay needs the opportunity a bit more than Kara does. Kara has been dressing celebrities for shows and videos for quite some time now.
Ok enough about a silly reality show… I gotta go to work.

1. Adam and I were finally able to return the gesture and invite Marc and Shanta over for dinner. (The mattresses that once plagued our dining room have since been removed.) While catching up on various news (school, work, wedding details and France trip-planning) we noshed on Adam’s pasta dish and drank some de-lish wine that they brought along. Goats do Roam is a wine from South Africa. If I knew the appropriate wine lingo, I’d describe it to you in succulent ways. But I don’t. So “it tastes pretty good” will have to suffice. They also left us with Yellowtail, an Australian wine, which I look forward to trying sometime soon.
2. Pink and blue piggies all in a row. While visiting the stationary store, Mai Do, in Santana Row last weekend, I picked up one of these cute piggies for Shanta (it’s her favorite animal). They’re mechanical pencils! You click the snout to advance the lead. The lead comes out of the… bum. It’s totally cute!
3. Lonny! Again, last weekend (it’s been a long week folks), Adam, Al and I decided to check out the SJSU Alumni hockey game. Current team vs Alumni. It seemed kind of weird, seeing some regulars of games past play against Lonny rather than with. A bittersweet game, this was the last game that we will see Lonny play in as a current SJSU student. The team is going on to Nationals and he will play there, but after that he’ll be on the Alumni team. Although the game lacked the typical rough and tough manner it was replaced by a jovial spirit among all the players. To make it even better, Lonny scored twice in this game.
The week has been long. I was sick for a bit and it pretty much took me out of it for the whole week. I’ve been clawing at various projects this weekend but I have yet to grab on tight enough to any of them.
Tomorrow I’m seeing Constantine and then jumping on the computer to finish the detail work for a website. I’m reconstructing… redesigning.. my company’s website. Here’s hoping they don’t hate it. Send me good luck vibes for Tuesday morning, mmkay?
Upcoming tidbits? Next weekend I will go home and the weekend following will be sprinkled with Matt Nathanson, G. Love & Special Sauce (new to me, but sounds interesting), Girls Night, and Antiques By The Bay.

Images are from the official site.Everyone and their momma has been talking about
“The Gates”. Christo’s newest work, taking place in Central Park. Over seven thousand of these gates are places along the pathways in the park.
Does anyone want to go with me to New York RIGHTTHISMINUTE?
Ok well I can’t, financially, but auuugh. Whine and complain. Mope and pout. I want to see this art display so badly.
Check them out for yourselves. Hundreds of photos are popping up on Flickr.
For kicks, check out some of the past work of Christo’s. Wrapped trees, covered pathways, and even islands surrounded by cloth. There is a lot of traffic going to these sites because of popularity of The Gates, so it might take you some time to navigate them.

Ok that’s my somewhat-spoiler warning. I’ve already ruined it for Iris – don’t let me ruin it for YOU too!
First off.. OMG they axed AUSTIN? Wendy sucks! She’s all over the place! BLEH! I’m glad Kara and Jay made it – I love their designs. I’m totally stuck on this show, I can’t wait until the next season (they will have another right??). Hmm, that reminds me, I wonder if Inked ever returned… (update: “We’re sorry, there is no upcoming episode.” poot.)
Redesigning the ole website again, expect piles and piles of new links. Thanks to StumbleUpon and Marc, I’ve been bookmarking tons of “new” websites. Creative, informative, entertaining, and down right silly ones. Not that you should be excited about that, but I’m always excited when I rehash my site.
I’ll be testing out some new features too..
But whatever, it’s not done yet.
I look forward to my weekend, assuming I won’t be stuck in bed all day with a fever. I’m already feeling feverish as it is. Wee.
I get to take photos for work tomorrow – always a highlight. Well, almost. Today I was dragged into taking photos for an event we held at our offices. But I was feeling sick, faint and actually a bit claustrophobic, so I opted out of it.

Despite my splitting headache (I managed to go one day without one – I’m so proud!) I wanted to post something…anything.
What started as a search for a new jazz CD for my mother turned into a book-buying fest for me. I present to you, my new books!

Life of Pi
My Sister’s Keeper
A Short History of Nearly Everything
Mirror, Mirror
Most of these have been sitting on my Amazon wishlist for sometime, and since there was a “3 for 2″ sale at Barnes & Noble, I decided to snag a few of them. Now I have the problem of which to start with. Any suggestions?
*Remember those READ posters you’d see in your school library with various pop culture icons of the past? Apparently, they’re still making them. Check out this totally droolable poster of Orlando Bloom. I’d read for you, Orlando.
