This week is wooshing by and I couldn’t be happier.
“Why Jen? Do you have something wild and crazy planned for the weekend?”
Yes I do. CLEANING!!
Wait, what?
Seriously. Spring cleaning baybeee. We’re tearing out our lawn on Saturday, cleaning the kitchen, and starting to pack. Fun for EVERYONE!
On Tuesday, we brought dinner to Marc and Shanta since they were busybusy packing and preparing for their flight to Paris. Helped a tad with moving some stuff around, and then helped by “shopping” their household cleaners box. One fun little item they gave to us were three (THREE!) Clorox Bleach Pens.
So that leads to my newest obsession – bleaching the grout in the kitchen. I started last night, I couldn’t wait until Saturday. It was like opening a Christmas gift early.
… why are you look at me like that?
I’m tempted to buy some cheapy t-shirt and play with the pen on that. I completely relate to the commercial now – where the kid is in the shadow, confessing that he loves his nasty-disgusting dorm bathroom because he gets to use the bleach pen in there.
Sad little obsession, I know.
Ok.. off to work!
*That’s got to be one of the best slogans ever.

When I arrived home on Friday night, this is what I saw.
My parents seemed to have a private art gallery in the living room!
Ok so maybe not. But after I put my stuff down Adam and I took turns sitting in the chair and staring at the wall and the painting. My mother laughed at us. Apparently when my uncle had stopped by earlier, he did the same thing.
No, my parents have not lost their minds (well…. just kidding!). My mother was trying to see the space where her new fancy schmancy desk will be in the next few days.
But it makes for an amusing photo, no?
By the way – isn’t that the most awesome painting ever? Look at those colors!

Due to a flooded basement, our traditional Easter celebrations were cancelled this year leaving us to just hang out with a portion of our family instead of all the kiddies, aunts and uncles like we’d normally do.
My parents, uncle, and I took Grandpa out to Perko’s for a gourmet Easter feast. During our meal we cracked jokes and managed to laugh like a bunch of crazies and probably annoy the rest of the patrons of Perko’s. Oh well, who cares… they were just jealous we were having fun. After Perko’s we spent several hours playing Texas Hold’em. Mike won the first game and I won the second. Although I felt bad taking money from my grandpa – he wanted to stay true to the game. So I walked away with $20. (I think I owe my parents $5 for the first game though, hmm.)
In between one of the games, Mike had excused himself to go to the potty. A few minutes later he walked back into the dining room… like this.
Then we told him to go outside and run around. He decided to work the pole out in the yard instead. You can’t see it in this shot, but there are 5 or 6 people dressed in biker-getups with their motorcycles across the street (to the left of the shot) staring at him, looking very confused.
So as you can see, our Easter was FAR FROM NORMAL.

Thank you, Mom & Dad! Now I have greenery on my desk! Here’s hoping I find my green thumb and manage to keep the plant alive.

Can you guess what this is?
I must close in on some goals.
Move more.
Eat less.
…and finish that damned scrapbook.
