• Nature’s Conception – The Gates of Hell

When I saw this photo in a post on Signal Vs. Noise I immediately thought it wasn’t just a random candid or journalistic photo but actually an art piece. I thought thought that someone had taken a photo of a scene from a children’s book. This isn’t a completely ‘out there’ thought – there is an artist who has taken children’s drawings and recreated them as photos. (see: Yeondoo Jung’s “Wonderland”) But it was a nice feeling, seeing this photo. It reminded me of a book I had when I was little called The Little House (by Virginia Lee Burton). The book was wonderfully illustrated and I really wish I had it still just to look at. For now you’ll just have to check out the “Look Inside” feature on Amazon.

The real story behind this photo is a sweet one.

* Update on that second one – apparently the group AP plans to meet with is not a group that really represents bloggers or the beliefs/integrity/etc of blogging in general. I thought something was fishy when I saw an AP link on the MBA’s website…

Messy, messy, messy. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Seriously, who didn’t see this coming?

The top 20 finally started to dance on So You Think You Can Dance tonight! I went into it wondering just how are they going to top last year’s awesome performers? Where’s the Neil? Where’s the Sabra? Lacey? Lauren? But my goodness.. these dancers are pretty damn good. There’s a few in the bunch I could easily see tossed within the first few weeks, but overall they did an awesome job for the first round of competition!

My favorite dance was the hip-hop one with Joshua and Katee.
