Did You Leave Anything At Game Night?
This weekend was packed with silly fun. After all the cleaning, prepping, baking, and putting-up-new-frames-ing, we had a giant Game Night at our apartment. 20-some odd friends came over and ate lots of food and played silly games until the wee hours of the night. Our apartment just fit the amount of people we had over but it was super hot so we had the fans going full blast. It didn’t help that Adam was running the oven (for the pigs-in-a-blanket) as everyone was arriving.
Oh and not pictured, my Rum & Coke cupcakes, which consisted of a chocolate+Coke cupcake and rum-flavored buttercream frosting. VERY buttercream… perhaps too much butter. But I went with the recipe! Anyway, they were OK.
There are a few repeating events each Game Night:
- Dan will wake up the next morning earlier than all of us and leave. He usually leaves behind a “One Night Stand” note as Adam refers to it, but this time he didn’t. We don’t know what to do. Do we call first? Do we wait a few days? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
- Someone leaves something at our apartment and it stays with us for weeks, sometimes months. This Game Night we acquired:
- One shirt, folded and hidden near the shoe rack // Belongs to Vijay! He took the remote we accidentally stole from him and had for something like six months, but he forgot his shirt. It’s OK Vijay, we know it is because you want to see us again.
A purple towel // Belongs to Carrie! We don’t have purple towels so it’s pretty easy to spot among the mix. Oh and also it has Carrie’s name on it!
One small package of wine charms // Belongs to… Iris? Carrie? Who?
A little tube of chapstick (or lip gloss or some kind of lotion) // Belongs to Shanta. I believe this has traveled from Shanta to Iris’ purse back a week at Umang’s wedding and now sits on our counter.
A red sweater // Belongs to Al and was returned to him the next day at Martin’s poolside b-day BBQ.
And now some photos…

Wah, that looks like a great night! (Also, I think Shanta’s pose says “aloha” more than “rock and roll”)
Wine charms are Carrie’s. If Maya were here, I bet socks would be on this list.
Wow! Looks like loads of fun! Oh…and one could NEVER have too much Butter in Buttercream frosting! Sounds yummmmmie!
See, I knew there was a logical reason for using the towel with my name on it. It’s perfect for just such occasions! It was a great game night. Just imagine what they’ll be like when you have a bigger place!
